COSMETIC RESTORATIONS

We are able to provide tooth coloured restorations on both front and back teeth so avoiding the use of metallic coloured amalgam restorations.

TOOTH WHITENING (BLEACHING)

This is done at home with an easy to use tray system. The process takes about two weeks and the technique ensures minimal sensitivity.

DENTAL HYGIENIST

Amy will ensure that we can keep your teeth and gums in a healthy condition by providing professional cleaning, scaling and oral hygiene instruction.

Bleeding gums can often be a sign of gum disease. At Ocean Reef Dental we ensure that your dental care is carried out as preventatively as possible. Our hygienist assists with this by using the most modern techniques in order to keep your teeth sparkling, breath fresh and your gums healthy!

Gum disease can occur very gradually and often patients are unaware of any problems. Regular hygienist appointments ensure we can detect and treat gum disease so preventing long term problems.

TREATMENT CHOICES

Any necessary treatment is explained in detail and all treatment will be discussed with a quote of costs provided. We are able to provide a treatment plan showing a breakdown of treatment needed.

PREVENTATIVE CARE

Our philosophy is to undertake preventative techniques where ever possible so preserve as much tooth substance as possible.

EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS

Daily spaces are left in our appointment book to avail a same day emergency service so ensuring any dental problems are dealt with as early as possible.

CROWN AND BRIDGEWORK

This procedure is used to repair broken down or missing teeth. Usually 2 visits are involved and a temporary restoration is placed while the permanent crown or bridge is made. Two weeks are usually required to make the permanent crown or bridge. We use very high quality porcelain bonded to precious metal alloy, or in some cases full gold crowns. All work is made by an excellent local laboratory.

EXTRACTIONS

We are able to undertake removal of all teeth with the exception of impacted wisdom teeth. We ensure that post operative pain is kept to a minimum.

CHILDREN'S CARE

We are happy to carry out all aspects of care for children and can refer for orthodontic needs if they arise.

DENTURES

Both acrylic and metal dentures are available. The process normally involves up to four visits over a four week period. We use very high quality artificial teeth in order to produce a very natural looking result.

ROOT CANAL THERAPY (RCT)

This involves removing the nerves of the tooth and placing root filling materials in the canal(s). The procedure usually takes two visits and we use rotary nickel titanium profiles. This procedure can be carried out with the minimum of discomfort in almost all cases.

MOUTHGUARDS/SPLINTS

Mouthguards can be made for any patient requiring them. They are available in a wide range of colours and patterns. Splinting of loose, unstable or traumatised teeth is also able to be undertaken.

T.M.J DYSFUNCTION (Clicking, Grinding)

Patients can suffer severe headaches and jaw problems due to this condition. We are able to make splints, which help to alleviate this condition. These are worn while you are sleeping.
